SF:  Cher, thanks so much for doing this interview with Models of Diversity. Can you please introduce yourself to our community in the UK and around the world?
CR:  Hi everyone I am Cher Rue a plus size actress, producer and promoter. I am 55 years
Old and have one beautiful daughter who is an artist. I have a wonderful chocolate lab that I adore "Ruby". I love helping others on a daily basis. I love dancing, boating, shopping and meeting people. I love doing charity work. You can check more of what projects I have done www.cherrue.com it has a lot of information about me.
SF:  You were adopted by a wonderful and loving family, but you've mentioned that they were not understanding of your weight growing up. Does that imply there may be a genetic component to size?
CR:  I did grow up with a average size family, I have no idea about genetics, but I have located my natural parents and my mom is thin and my father is plus size. My sisters work on their weight everyday so it possibly could be genetics.
SF:  Let's start with the positive; what's the most wonderful compliment you've ever gotten about being a fuller figured woman?
CR:  I would say the most wonderful compliment I have ever received about being fuller figured would be I am soft and curvy, but to me it is more about the compliment of me being a nice person and caring.
SF:  And how about the worst thing anyone has said to you? Why do people think that taking target at larger men and women is fair game?
CR:  The worst thing that anyone has said to me was when I was in my teens and some kids called me fat. I didn't really care, it is like saying oh you have brown hair, it is the truth and if they needed to tell me then oh well. LOL I have seen people target women and men in any situation is that they are insecure in how they feel about themselves, otherwise why be mean? Why say anything. I feel if you don't have anything nice to say then why say it. No one is fair game, people need to work on themselves and not worry about what others are doing.
SF:  Why do people think that being overweight 'undoes' a person's beauty? I've been told myself a number of times "You're pretty but fat" or "You'd be hot if you lost some weight."
CR:  I think that people who see things through their own eyes and media feel that certain sizes are beautiful, I look at everyone and see the inner beauty I rarely look at what size someone is. They are pretty, and fat, and tall, and nice, it is the person that matters not what we look like.
SF:  Tell us about some of the other things you do for plus people in your life.
CR:  I am all for supporting the community, I have done make-over's, photo shoot's,
Been there for people struggling and just listening. I have created a few award's that are given at the BBW Bash in Las Vegas every year. I have done several documentaries and interviews promoting the plus size community, I have had a online newspaper for the community. I try to inspire bbw models, I am a judge for a contest every year "Miss Plus Top Model" with Juliette Haggerman. I don't really think about these but just do them, to see a smile on someone's face is such a rush of happiness. I was partner in 3 plus size clubs but now I am trying to make a difference in Hollywood showing them we are beautiful at any size!
SF:  The so called "fat acceptance" community seems to shy away from talking about health and sometimes instructs their members not to admit that being overweight could be unhealthy. How does this sit with you?
CR:  I am not a doctor I know that many overweight people are healthy and some are not, I think it is a personal journey and people need to take care of their health no matter what size they are.
SF:  As an inspiration to many people out there, who are what inspires you - a family member, or a fab curvy celeb? At MoD, we learn the importance of having a positive role model every day, which is partly why we do what we do.
CR:  I would have to say my father who has passed has been my role model all my life
He was always helping young people to succeed and grow in their lives, this I always admired in him and I try to help others also. I also admire Oprah she is blessed to have the funds to help so many People I wish I could do that.
SF:  Who are some of your favorite plus-sized models working today? What would you like to say to all the plus models out there who feel like giving up on their dreams?
CR:  I would say my favorite plus-size models are all of the ones who feel good and love themselves. If I have to choose one it would be Alana Chandler she is an amazing girl and a role model. I would say to anyone who is out their and feel like giving up on their dreams, to push on and follow your path and believe in yourself because love of self is what is important.
SF:  Anything else you'd like to add?
CR:  I would love to add that if anyone would like to chat or meet me I would love that, I love meeting new people and if I can give advice or friendship that would be great.
Please to all your fans please take a minute and pray for World Peace I appreciate it, and
