About me - by Queen Allen
I am 32 years old and currently a size 16-18. My parents are from Thailand and Trinidad. Previously I have been an actress and performed at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in The Threepenny Opera as well 5 years in Theatre in Education. This involved touring with plays and workshops about relevant issues all around various schools and community venues in London. After winning a beauty contest in 1999, I started Size Plus Modelling. I featured in Black Hair and Beauty magazine as well as being a feature model with independent fashion label Popeau and Hall.

Due to a family tragedy, I had to take time out to become a professional Foster carer and look after my 3 younger sisters. As they are now older, I have returned to my passion of acting and modelling as well as working in Media Production.I have recently performed in “Ashes” at The Arcola Theatre (nov 08), “Love Forgives” a short film (mar 09) and “Spotless Mind” at South Bank University. I have worked for Media for All and Urban Media Productions as a production assistant and PA for the last 2 years as well currently training in video production and editing. I have modelled for Jade Tinkler to promote her photography business and recently been accepted by Sinclair Model Management as well as being voted the Face of Models of Diversity.

I have constantly had to battle again race and size discrimination all my life. As a carer, I don't want my sisters to have the same insecurities and anxieties as I did when I was growing up. I believe that the images that surround us in the Media, beauty and entertainment industries contribute to influencing how women feel about themselves and that women should be represented in all our different and glorious forms.
All ages, ethnicities, abilities and sizes should be celebrated and presented. Our diverseness is at the heart of our beauty and strength and this should be celebrated. As the Face of Models of Diversity, I want to help raise awareness of our campaign and help to make a change in the industry so that all women get the chance to be represented in the public arena.

I'm so humbled and honoured to be part of this campaign.
