Tracy
My name is Tracy I'm a 41 year old single mum and wheelchair user.

I recently appeared on Gok Wan's How To Look Good Naked With a Difference. I applied for the show as I was sick of feeling down about the way I looked, hated my legs, tummy and dress style. The show was fantastic and I looked a million dollars after but still left with the feeling of wanting to take things a step further. I heard about Angel Sinclair's campaign for Models of Diversity. I contacted Angel and will be appearing once again on the catwalk 29 July in London to represent Models of Diversity. I am more excited about this than anything I have ever done!

I was born with one leg and foot shorter than the other spent most of my early years in and out of Hospital and walked with a very bad limp. At the age of 16 a rare tumour was found on my spinal cord five and a half pounds in weight with a spike of bone cutting through the spinal cord. I was told if left I would be paralysed from the neck down or on removing could be from waist down. The operation was a success I could feel my legs but couldn't make any movement the nerves had been damaged that sent the messages. I was 16 the thought of never walking again didn't really hit me. Sad part was I was just beginning to try and walk in high heels, this would never happen now. I developed a unique swing through pattern on my crutches and life went on. In 2001 I had a beautiful baby boy over come every obstacle that bringing a baby into the world could bring from getting him to the car, in his cot, bathing etc we did it. In 2003 started with pain in right leg and neck a cystic tumour was found on my spinal cord the size of a marble and was drained. In 2007 now the size of a golf ball the consultant was unable to drain and has made a wider opening for it to grow and maybe paralyse me one day.

Like most disabled people I don't dwell on it we have one shot at life and life is for living! I have a lovely family, the most wonderful friends and life in general is fantastic. I want everyone to see I'm like any other woman I have my hang ups about my body and try and focus on my best bits. The only difference is my legs don't work.

I want to show the world that no matter what, life goes on, and as long as you have a love of life and a passion and drive anything can be achieved!
